Check baggage, boarding passes and entry requirements separately—especially with separate tickets.
Ask what is checked through
At your first airport, ask which destination appears on the baggage tag and whether you hold all boarding passes. Keep the tag until your final arrival. Never assume two flights in the same booking always mean the same transfer process.
Separate tickets need a margin
A self-transfer may require baggage collection, entry formalities and a fresh check-in. The next airline may treat a missed departure as a no-show. Ask both carriers about deadlines and disruption protection before choosing a tight connection.
